i was looking for a stepper with tension control. because i had recently bought one without tension control. and it really put way too much tension on my knees. so i looked on amazon and priced one with a tension control. well, that's where this one came in and i found the best price by $12. and it was perfect. i use it everyday and i can tell the difference in my leg strenght within 2 days. love this stepper!!
Looking to sweat? May 16, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This stepper is definitely good for you if you are looking for a light cardio workout. With regards to working out the thighs and calves, it is painful at the time when you are using them the most. However, the next day I must admit I felt no discomfort whatsoever; this may also come from the fact that I work out regularly though. Again, this is a good workout tool; especially for beginner exercisers.
With regards to the product, it comes to you assembled. The only thing you have to do is connect the heart monitor/timer. Before buying this product, I read negative reviews about the batteries so I simply placed my own batteries in the timer; I have had no issue with the battery life. There is a small squeak as you step up and down, but it is not distracting whatsoever. The timer, on the other hand, chooses to come on whenever it wants to but I personally do not use it anyway so it does not hinder my workout. Also, the product comes with a booklet filled with recipes and a diet plan. There is also a workout plan attached.
Basically, this is a fairly decent product. Mainly, I would say it is for beginners and works better when you are using the product for a light cardio workout. I definitely enjoy it and it gets the job done. It is not compact but can fit in a corner if it must. With this product, you are getting what you have paid for (which is a decent price all things considered).
It looks nice but doesn't last. May 1, 2008 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I chose this mini stepper becuase I thought it looked heavy-duty. I used it for a couple of months only and it broke. One of the metal pieces broke right off-there is no way to fix this-I'll have to order parts. Before it broke I decided it isn't that great of a workout (I've owned one other brand of mini stepper) this particular one does quick small steps only. I don't reccommend this product.
It works April 9, 2008 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
When I purchased the fitness quest xl stepper, I did not expect much because not only I thought it was too affordable but I was overall pessimistic. however, I started using it the day I received it from the mail and at the end of that week, my jeans fitted more loosely. I used to say the people who write those positive reviews are paid to do so but I am genuinely satisfied with it. Although, it does make a squicky noise from time to time, it does not bother me because I use it as I am watching TV. To me, it was money well spent.
