5 out of 5 stars does what it is supposed to   February 13, 2008
Works just fine for me; no problems with the fold up feature as others have had. It is a simple concept that works. Some assembly was required--just attach the bar to the bracket with a screwdriver and wrench and pliers. I even did it with just my fingers, though it could be tightened a bit. Do your sit ups and then fold it up agains the door and you're good to go. Recommended.

4 out of 5 stars A Wrench Works   February 4, 2008

This product works just fine. For those complaining that it doesn't remain in the upright position, note that there is a nut and bolt that can be very easily adjusted with a wrench to tighten the torsion on the device.

5 out of 5 stars Great Tool   January 25, 2008
This is a great thing to have! I have always had trouble doing situps sliding my feet under my couch but not anymore. It is very comfortable and the fact that it folds up I don't have to worry about stubbing my pinky toe and throwing a chair across the room.

This is a nice little unit for those of us trying to get through the agony of sit-up conditioning. The mounting couldn't be simpler, and it's flexible on door width, positioning, etc. I tried it on a few doors (I have a VERY old house) and found that the tighter fit of the door, the better.

If the door is loose in the jam, then the unit will flex the door when you use it. I also found that positioning along the length of the door is also a factor - it seems more stable when positioned toward one end of the door or the other.

I did not have the problem of it falling down due to gravity like another poster, but door I had it on only gets opened/closed < 10 times per day.

The fold up feature simply doesn't work. If you don't mind it dragging the ground when the door is used or not, then you will like it.
