Great supplemental tool! September 18, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this to supplement my workouts when I was rehabbing from a hockey injury. The dvd that was included has a good, easy-to-follow format and challenges your core. I started with the recommended exercises and then just incorporated those into my current workouts as I healed, especially the Russian Twists! If you're looking for something to melt away the pounds and define your abs, this would be by far the best tool to supplement your other efforts (hanging bar would be the first). By no means is the abs ball to replace a solid total-body workout and food intake adjustment (dare I say the dreaded "diet" word), but it will definitely help, especially if you haven't been exercising for a while and can't stand the idea of hundreds of crunches that hurt your lower back. I whole-heartedly recommend changing your "eating plan" to the Zone Diet (it's really NOT a diet) and workout following the CrossFit exercises at crossfit.com, those two combined will dramatically change your body shape and your strength exponentially in just a few weeks!!
Feeling it. July 26, 2007 I received the product about 5-days after I ordered it (and I live in Hawaii). The product packaging was crazy--three nested boxes with air packets.
The DVD worked and I did the workout for the first time yesterday. The exercise sequence made sense and was easy to do (beginner version). The only issue I had was that the handles weren't too comfortable in the plank position.
I can't speak about results yet seeing as I did it for the first time yesterday, but I am feeling it in my abs today. It's effective and not time consuming. I feel like I've worked my abs as well with this product as I have during an hour-long pilates class (I took reformer classes for two years). I can't wait to try the advanced workout.

I just recieved my abs ball and the first time I tried to use it the dvd is freezing up, I had read this in many reviews before purchasing so I was aware this could happen, but was hoping I would get lucky... guess I will have to call and try to get another one sent before I can use it.
Abs Ball March 18, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Good product, the DVD that came with the ball is easy to follow and really helps you get started. I had no issues with the DVD playing unlike other reviews I have read. The only issue I had is the distinct petroleum smell of the ball so be aware of it if you plan to keep it inside your living space. I thought it might dissipate over time but it's still pretty strong.
Apple-shaped woman developing waist!!! February 10, 2007 7 out of 8 found this review helpful
I had no waist-a tire of fat where it should be. Victim to the low-rise jean fad, I suffered from plumber's butt and bunched-waist in the back of my jeans. I decided something must be done. I smoke, previously did no exercise, and have a couch potato lifestyle.
After using the abs ball for two weeks (2-3 times a week), I felt tighter in my waist. I saw no definition, but jiggled less. After a month, I could feel my obliques inderpendently of my lower and upper ab muscles when I exercised. This helped me execute the exercises better: when I first started, I could not feel any muscles at all when I exercised, which caused me to rely completely on mimicking the tranier on the dvd when attempting to do each exercise correctly. Now I know when I am working the right muscles! It has been two and a half months, and I am beginning to see a waist!!! I can wear my jeans from high school!!! All my old jeans fall off of me now, and though I do not yet have a 6 pack, all of this happened without me doing anything else-no cardio, I still smoke, and I have not dieted (I just switched from simple carbs to complex carbs whenever I can). I just recently switched to the advanced workout this week, and still sweat! This is a great little ball-do the exercise 2 to 3 times a week and stick to it, as it won't let you down.
