exercise bike January 25, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I am really happy with it the best thing I like about it, it tells me how many calories I have burned up, it was easy to assemble and I was surprised how fast I received it, it only took 3 days to get it. The only thing I don't like about it, I wish there was a way to adjust the tension on it.

The pedals wore out after less than a year and I had to replace it.
A Great Exercise Bike April 7, 2007 15 out of 15 found this review helpful
The Excel 286 took about an hour and a half for me to assemble, and it gave me a better workout than the Edge 386 did. It does have some resistance, but the resistance level was perfect for me. This bike has a small on-board computer that displays how many calories you have burned and the distance you have traveled. What I like most about this bike is that it's lightweight, it's an upright bike, and it has moveable handle bars that you can use if you want to work out your upper body. This bike will give you a good workout. You will get a better workout from this bike than from a standard bike that you use outside. It does make some noise. That's because it's a fan bike. How much noise does this bike make? A box fan makes about as much noise as this bike. The fan blades are necessary because they create the air resistance while you pedal the bike. You could buy a more expensive bike with magnetic resistance. Bikes with magnetic resistance are usually quieter than fan bikes, but the resistance doesn't feel natural on some of them. I bought the Edge 386 exercise bike two years ago. Pedaling the Edge 386 feels like I am working out on a machine rather than riding a bike outside. Many people get sick of exercising because they don't know how to exercise. They go to gyms and kill themselves by working out for two or three hours. That's ridiculous. Get on this bike and attempt to burn no more than 200 calories. You can do that in less than 20 minutes. Try burning 400 calories if you want a terrific workout. I've tried many different types of exercise over the years. I think biking is the best exercise you can get.
Good for under $100 February 1, 2007 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
For $99, this is a great bike. The ride isn't as smooth as I would like (though it's not bad), the seat is a little uncomfortable and I'm pretty sure the computer system isn't accurate (the timer is fine), but...again- it was $99. I would recommend this exercise bike to beginners or someone who doesn't plan on using this product on a daily basis. If you're looking for something more from a bike, you're going to have to spend more. But if you're on a tight budget and need a low-impact workout, then this may be the product for you.
wears out too soon January 30, 2007 7 out of 10 found this review helpful
I bought this bike new and the resistence strap wore out within 3-4 monthes. I contacted their website-- fruitless-- and when I called the company they said the part was not in stock and would not be available for WEEKS. If you are serious about a long term exercise regimen this is not the bike for you.
