Be ready to use the warranty... September 11, 2008 We had this machine for 4 months before it broke and needed to be replaced. Our's broke at at a welded section under the handle, where the bar coming up from the foot stirrup meets the cross bar under the handle. My wife was the only one using the machine and she is 200 lbs, well below the suggested weight maximum, so this seems like shoddy work to me.
At the end of the day, the $300 we spent on it would have been better served getting a membership to a gym for three years.
Gazelle Power Plus September 9, 2008 Gazelle Power Plus. My husband and I find the machine very good for our health needs. The fact that it's low impact feathers perfect for us, because we are in our late 60's. Our doctors are very happy. In fact one of our doctors has a similar machine of a older model.
Good Product July 18, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought the Gazelle Power plus for my wife, because she didn't like treadmills or exercise bikes. She has been using it now for about a month, and loves it! I read the reviews that stated the Gazelle squeaks,a the footpads break and things of that nature, but I believe that with a little Preventive Maintenance such as regreasing the pivot points occaisonally and standing in the middle of the foot pads where they are supported by the metal frame, these issues can be prevented. As for the cylinders going bad, I haven't had the machine long enough for that to happen. All in all It is a great piece of exercise equipment for the price!
Not very happy... June 9, 2008 Purchased this unit 14 mos ago. Steel frame just cracked. And I weigh about 280lbs (well below the 350 that it says it supports) Warranty only good for 12mos. I will keep you posted on customer service experience.
Nice quiet workout April 29, 2008 Unlike the eliptical that recently died on us, this unit is very quiet. But it sacrifices a bit in the workout. You can add tension and your workout will be great if you only workout in bursts of 15 minutes or so, but the longer you go the easier it gets. The tension lessens after awhile.
On my old eliptical I would workout for about 45 minutes and it would be a consistant workout, but with the gazelle I usually go for about 20 or 25 minutes before it just feels pointless to continue and I move on to do situps or something else for the remainder of the time.
That being said it is great for 20 minute workouts, it is ultra quiet and at a fraction of the cost of a good eliptical.
