 Uninteresting, overpriced sauce December 3, 2008
I had great expectations when I bought this sauce. I am Italian and was thrilled to have found a Bertolli product (usually a good indication of quality) and my favorite food, mushrooms.
The sauce is decent. I can't say it's bad, because I have used it for my pasta and don't plan on throwing it away what I have left of the 6 pouches that I had to order. But it's a very bland tomato sauce, a bit too oily and with little to no mushroom taste. There are tiny chunks of mushrooms here and there, true, but their taste is completely masked by the saltiness of the tomato sauce.
I am very, very disappointed. Any cheaper, supermarket brand tomato sauce would have tasted exactly the same for a much better price.

This is a very tasty sauce for what it is. If you are single or have a very small family (in my house its just me and my husband) this is a really quick and convienient option. I think it tastes better than most canned sauces, some how less acidic(maybe its in my head, but that's what Ithink) and I love notdirtying up an extra sauce pan to prepare a quick lunch or dinner. When i use a can i always have about half left over, now even when just feeding two Ifind there is still a good portion left over, I think 3 people would be fed comfortably from it. Pretty good deal on amazon and nice things to have on hand for quick satisfying meals

This has to be the world's best prepared pasta sauce. Cut where indicated
pop it in the microwave for 90 seconds, and its ready- no clean up.

bertoli tomato sauce is the best supermarket brand in a jar ..This version is slightly lower in sodium(450mg) than it brethren but it is also not like the picture on the pouch suggests.That picture shows a vibrant looking spicy feast with an exotic name;inside is a watery brew,and not very exotic at all.But as noted above, this company makes very good sauce.The pouch it comes in is an excellent vehicle for its tansportation and preparation but it is way too expensive for what you get both in quantity and(imo) quality..(fat 4g unsat 1g carb 10g per serv)note:flavor in tomato sauce is always highly subjective to individual taste.Your move.

Below average pasta sauce. You can get many better tasting sauces and for a lot less money in any supermarket. It has a somewhat watery, acidic taste. Could not taste the mushrooms at all. The only thing premium about this sauce is the price. Wont buy these again.
