3 out of 5 stars Great design but pads too thin   November 8, 2008
The straight forward design of this product, two separate handles which are secured by closing the door, is excellent; however the execution is flawed. In particular the foam pads against which the back of your hands are pressed during the chin-up are painfully thin, particularly if you do a full range movement, pulling your head up well above your hands. This can be corrected by putting a folded towel underneath the pads, but the pads should have been thick enough to make the towel unnecessary.

Also, if you want to do pull-ups, that is palms facing away from your body, it is easier to just grab the top of an open door rather than using this device. The towel mentioned above comes in handy for insuring that the door doesn't close.

2 out of 5 stars It's good but...   September 15, 2008

I have been using this product for a little over a month. First let me say that this a great product for staying in shape at home and avoiding paying gym memberships and outrageous gas prices. But after a month of use the platic handles have begun to tear. Before I started using this product I was already in pretty good shape (6'5 225lbs) Since I added this product into my at home routine i dropped 10lbs and added overall definition to my body. Perhaps there is a weight limit of 200lbs for users, but this product is not holding up as I expected.

5 out of 5 stars excellent product   August 29, 2008
I was a little suspicious the first time I heard it can be set up in 5 seconds. I can set it up probably in 3 seconds. Anyways, I can't imagine an easier way to do pullups in my room. I use this product along with my Bowflex Dumbbell and found them really strengthening my arms.

5 out of 5 stars Great Workout   July 27, 2008
This is a great workout. I had been trying to look for a good pull up exercise without installing anything onto a wall. And now I have found it. Get it if you want to get the perfect work out.

3 out of 5 stars Good if you are on the move or renting.   July 24, 2008

I don't really enjoy doing pullups with this unit.

I can only do about 8 pullups, but since my current exercise program has me doing about 40 a day 2 times a week this is quite difficult. With a pullup bar you can put your feet on a chair to limit the strain, but that is impossible with this unit. Also, in my house I can only use it on the front door as it requires a very thick door for proper use.

On the bright side, the product is very small and travel-ready. If you can already do 10+ pull ups for 2 reps it is an excellent product, but if you are just starting out I would recommend bands or a pullup bar instead. I would get a pull up bar, but as a renter I would rather not drill holes in any door frames!
