Rope October 23, 2008 Very good rope! If you want one that is sturdy and gets the job done. Buy this one. No kinks neither!
Decent Jump Rope July 20, 2008 The jump rope arrived already opened. The cardboard was all torn up and the wires that are supposed to hold the jump rope in place were already cut. The rope was just shoved inside and wrapped with packing tape to keep it in. That had no effect on the quality of the product but it certainly made the company look bad in my eyes since I didn't order a used item and this clearly was used. Other than that is a pretty solid jump rope. It fits me perfectly and I'm 5'2" so its a bit short for 9ft. I received a black and purple one rather than the blue and black rope shown. I'm giving it three stars instead of five because of the color difference and the fact that they charged me for a new rope and sent me a used one. Overall I recommend it and I would buy it again.
Disappointing!!! July 18, 2008 I have gotten so frustrated trying to find a good jump rope. I took a chance on this beaded rope and I regret it. The one I received looked old and used. The most confusing part is that I am 5'6" and I was tripping over a 9 foot rope! I lengthened it a little and it just felt very awkward and wobbly. The search continues!
not bad May 16, 2008 It's not bad. Technically, the rope is adjustable but it's tricky since the rope is held to the handle by a knot (preventing it from going through a hole in a plastic piece inside the handle), and so the knot is not really accessible except through the end-cap on the handle. This makes it difficult if not impossible to undo the knot in the rope since it's about 2" inside the handle and there's no good access to it... but it's theoretically possible. I spent about 10 minutes with tweezers before giving up. The problem is that you can't pull the rope further out to access the knot since the beads push up against the other side of the handle.
They should have designed the handle as a two-piece screw-off so that you could easily change the placement of the knot. But the default length is about 9' and there's at least 6" extra if you can get the knot undone. I'm 6' and the default length is barely long enough, but it works.
The other thing is that the beads seem a little bulky. They have these little bumps on them which have no apparent function, and I'd rather have the traditional smooth beads. But it spins nice.
Good for the Noobie March 27, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This jump rope won't tangle, is a little heavy, and makes a crisp sound when it hits the floor. Basically, this is perfect for new people who jump rope because you can definitely get the rythme down. Plus, the beads protect the rope from being torn apart by rough surfaces. (i.e. concrete) Don't expect to be doing any fast roping or tricks though.
