 Lightning fast! October 31, 2008
As an earlier reviewer said, there really isn't too much one can say about a jump rope is there? Having stated the obvious, this "Buddy Lee Aero Speed Rope", despite the somewhat high price tag, really is worth the money!
This rope is lightning fast- much faster than a standard speed rope which I can only put down to the highly efficient bearing loaded patented design handles since the actual cord is just standard PVC like all speed ropes. Prior to purchasing this rope I was using a "standard" Everlast speed rope and was achieving decent speeds but after upgrading to this Aero Speed rope I am amazing myself at the speeds I am achieving (around 540- give or take- rotations in each 3 minute round- 3 rotations per second). It's now only my cardiovascular conditioning that is preventing me from reaching the standards Buddy suggests aiming for (I also have his book) whereas prior to this purchase, I believe it was a combination of both my fitness and the "average" rope I was using.
The quality of construction seems to be very high although I have only had the rope for around a week and earlier reviewers have commented on the ropes tendency to snap with prolonged use- time will tell. I think the included spanner is a bit of a gimmick and probably unnecessary but hey, whatever.
Anyway, five stars from me. Well made and very, very fast. Really that's all you can ask for in a jump rope isn't it?

Don't know why people are "hung up" on the plastic rope. I've been through a half dozen so far in the past two years and have never had an issue with kinks or bends. My guess is these folks aren't using the rope enough. This is not a beginner's rope, but for those who want speed and agility and quality. High quality. Ye, the plastic tubes break, just like leather snaps. However, replacement cost is low. Just stock up on some replacements.
I've tried a dozen ropes, this isn't just better, but light years better.

Je recommende ΰ quiconque qu'y recherche la vitesse et la performance dans son entraξnement. Cette corde ΰ sauter est vraiment ΰ la hauteur de ses attentes. Juste porter une attention particuliθre ΰ l'ajuster ΰ la bonne grandeur.

I have used countless amounts of different jump ropes over the years that I have used jumping rope for a conditioning exercise for boxing.
There are many problems with this "speed rope":
1)It is way too expensive
2)The rope is made of cheap plastic that is very difficult to straighten the kinks out of.
3)The rope is too light to swing with intense velocity.
4)The handles are too thin and therefore a person must use additional grip strength and effort to hold onto the handles to spin the rope fast.
I suggest a person purchase the Super Speed Rope which is less expensive and revolves with unmatched speed. If money is an issue, go to Target or Walmart and get a ten dollar speed rope which will perform as well or better than the Buddy Lee Aero-Speed.
