Yes, it's a ball.... May 30, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Well, at the risk of sounding sarcastic (see previous review) this is definitely a ball. However, there are many things that one should know about this particular ball, which is why a review is helpful. Although I ordered the one that said it came with a pump, it did not come with the pump. I was in no mood to fight this, so I just inflated it myself with a standard bicycle pump with a plastic attachment that gave me an excellent seal. This ball I got is the "Soft" Sport ball, which on the Fitball website is said to be softer than the Regular ball, although Amazon's description might be misleading, there is a a Sport Soft and a Sport Firm. Obviously the Firm is firmer, per the website, than their regular ball. The more firm the ball, the less of the ball that contacts the floor and balancing is more challenging the firmer the ball. So, let that be your guide.
To be clear, I own the soft sport ball, 65 cm. I am 6 ft tall and have long legs. I should have ordered the 75cm ball. Had I consulted the Ball Dynamics website, I would have known this. However, it is a nice ball. I inflated it as instructed and it is a bit more than 23 inches, a good 3 inches BELOW the max inflation size of 26". I feel if I inflated it more, it would still not reach that size. Another reason why I wish I had purchased the larger sized one.
If you are fitball challenged I recommend a stand for stability until you are more experienced. Save time and shipping and go ahead and grab one when you order your fitball or whatever brand you desire. The Valeo is better priced and I'm not sure it would be any better, although I know of some people that have had their Fitball brand ball almost 10 years. Of note is that the website recommends replacement after 3 years...but they're in the ball-selling biz.
What more can you say about a ball? Plenty! Shall I go on? (It's round)
It's a ball January 18, 2008 1 out of 7 found this review helpful
It's a big ball. It's right in that meaty part of the ball curve: not too flashy, not falling behind current ball technology. It would have received more praise if it had incorporated some innovative, cutting-edge ball features.
It came with a pump, and seems to hold air. WOW. Thanks for reminding me to author a review of this fantastic gadget, Amazon. What would people do if they couldn't read reviews about giant inflatable balls they want to purchase? I know what they SHOULD do: move as far away as possible from a society that fosters the idea that companies should annoy people to rate products as mundane as plastic balls to help other ball-seekers make a decision they would otherwise be unable to make without some ball-owner guidance ans wisdom.
Get real. If you need help deciding which large inflatable ball to purchase because you think the product differentiation is so large from brand-to-brand, you're a special person. I would suggest that you need help of a different sort, far removed from the kind "required" for ball selection.
I forgot to mention: shipping was quick and arrived before Xmas as promised. Hooray.
