Tough to get started, but kids love it December 22, 2004 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
This product is great once you get it inflated, but getting to that point can be frustrating.
The package I received came with instructions (in several languages), a spare stopper, an adapter for foot or gas station air pumps (it says in the instructions that's what it's for), and, of course, the hop ball itself with stopper already inside.
The adapter is what gave me the most trouble. It has a little ball inside that kept stopping the air flow from my foot pump. I had to keep the air flow down to a trickle in order for the ball to inflate. It was too tricky and time-consuming, so I threw out the adapter and used a hand pump I'd kept from our last twisty balloon phase. Once the adapter was bypassed, inflation still took between 15-30 min. Not bad, but I wish I'd been able to use the foot pump.
I'm giving it four stars because the grips are textured, the stopper, which seems to hold well, is on the top of the handles instead of on the ball itself, and my kids absolutely love it. I've had it less than a day, so I may end up changing my mind, but so far, this is as good as a Hop-A-Roo.
