Air leak, disappointed September 2, 2008 I used this ball for a couple months and before long it got a small puncture and leaked air. No way to repair according to SPRI. I wasn't particularly hard on the ball, but I didn't check the floor each time I used it either. I assumed it was more puncture resistant. I think it may have snagged on something. I would recommend the Elite ball, which is more expensive, in the SPRI line. The gym I go to uses the Elite ball and it looks much thicker. Why call this ball "Professional Plus" if it isn't all that durable?
OK ball (my first) - some impressions December 21, 2007 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I bought this ball to sit on while at the computer. It is a bit big for that (my thighs aren't parallel to the floor) so I let some air out of it to lower my sitting height. Probably the best thing to do, as the ball fully pumped up is fairly hard, and sitting on it for extended periods might be uncomfortable.
For use in exercise they say your height determines what size ball you should use - not true. If you are 5'8" and have shrimpy legs and a long torso like me, you should probably go for the next size down - for exercise, that is.
The ball itself is bright red and made of thick, durable rubber/plastic. It was pretty stinky out of the box, and it still smells somewhat, weeks later. The included pump is merely sufficient, and it will take you a long time to pump up the ball with it. Better than nothing I guess. My ball doesn't inflate to a perfect sphere, but is flattened somewhat on the top and bottom. This is actually a plus if you are going to use it for sitting as it is a bit more stable.
Great Ball - Gym Grade, True To Size September 18, 2007 Great ball, Professional Gym Quality. I am 250 lbs. & use the ball for free weight training with no issues, will last a lifetime.
