1 out of 5 stars Garbage   March 15, 2008
The bar only extends from one end, and the foam padding is a royal pain to push to the center. Worse still, after extending the bar just once the telescoping mechanism jammed up completely. I'm returning this tomorrow for a full refund... I figure there's no point in giving a second chance to cheap equipment.

4 out of 5 stars Pretty good chin-up bar   March 12, 2008
I like this chin-up bar. It is sturdy and comes with multiple brackets so you can set it at a couple of different levels. The only issue I have with it is that it is a bit too narrow to do actual pull ups.

5 out of 5 stars Works Well   February 29, 2008
This pull-up bar does exactly what you would expect from a pull-up bar, it allows you to do pull-ups. One nice thing about the design of this bar is the way that it fits into the wall brackets.

Since it "screws" into the brackets, instead of being placed on the brackets, it allows you to do some more intense pull-ups, this is especially useful if you do Crossfit, for instance.

5 out of 5 stars VERY GOOD PRODUCT   February 26, 2008
This is a great product! Very, very sturdy and it took me 10 minutes to install. I never doubted this product because of the everlast name too, so you know you are getting a quality chin-up bar. I refer this product to anyone that is looking for another addition to their gym products, with the comfort of not having to leave your home.

1 out of 5 stars Has many flaws   December 31, 2007

I'm afraid we have to agree with Bob F. There is no way to keep the bar from rotating during use. In fact, we tightened it so much in the attempt to keep it from rotating that we stripped the threads.

Also, this will only fit a 26" door WITHOUT THE BRACKETS. Our door is 27.5 inches, and only after we put up the brackets did we realize that we could not shorten the bar enough to actually fit it in. So we ended up snipping some of the metal off of one of the brackets in order to be able to get the bar in. I'd love to return this, but since we have manhandled it so in an effort to make it useful I'm not sure they'll take it. I also have drill holes in my doorframe now.

I am so tired of poorly designed/made products. Are there any companies left that take pride in their workmanship?
