| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description The only resistive exercise bands endorsed by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA). Ideal for building upper and lower body strength for rehabilitation or fitness. Whether building strength after shoulder or knee surgery or improving athletic performance, our bands, tubing and corresponding resistance exercise programs can be easily and economically used for any exercise program. The progressive resistance of our products parallels the basic concepts of building strength and mobility. As each level is mastered, the resistance can be increased with ability. In general, tan and yellow are used for early rehabilitation or very frail individuals. The most common resistances are red, green & blue. Black, silver and gold are typically used by athletes. The use of elastic resistance rather than weight-bearing exercises minimizes pressure on the joints and decreases the possibility of incurring other injuries. They can be used while traveling, sitting at home or even in the office. Uses for the Thera-Band Bands include: exercise, gym, balance, fitness, birthing, yoga, pilates, and stability and resistance.

They get the job done November 24, 2008 I needed something portable and lightweight. I hadn't used therabands before and liked that this was a set. I've been using them for my workouts to increase the challenge of some pilates exercises and also old standards. I've purchased a Yoga video with a section using the bands too.

I was dissatisfied with these exercise bands for three main reasons.
1. they are weak, even the "heavy" bands
it takes a lot of tension to make even the heavy bands do anything worthwhile for me. I am a mid weight six foot male, so this may not be anything universal, but...
2. these bands snap very easily and unsafely
these bands wear out and snap! after about two months, if you use them often, they start to tatter and fray, no matter what you do, and will eventually snap like slingshots. very annoying.
3. they add up
even with retying, with band after band snapping, eventually you will be coming back for more... if you use them regularly.
for these above reasons, I switched from Thera-band to one of those cord-type of bands by a company named SPRI. I am happy; it has lasted three months so far with no wear and tear, and it's only one cord. I would have snapped through at least 2 bands in that time.
EXCELLENT..and they're made in Germany June 12, 2008 what would have made it better is if they put an exercise card in with the bands...the bands are terrific
Everyone should stretch with these. April 6, 2008 A gentle way to stretch your muscles. Doesn't matter if you aren't the fitness guru, either. Stretching is good for everyone and helps prevent injuries. Also used to stretch/condition muscles for archery. Can't go wrong with this product. I've used the bands in PT and wanted them for home use. No issue with anything about product.
Flexible yet strong! December 7, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I've long been looking for a latex free theraband that can actually handle being used 10+ times a day/ 5 days a week without breaking during the first week. I work at an outpatient physical therapy clinic for athletes and most latex free therabands aren't strong enough for these type of patients especially after the two-week mark. This product is great for two reasons - 1. because they're very durable and 2. they don't smell like most therabands do. Highly recommended!
