cheaply made November 23, 2008 You'd be much better off making your own bag. It looked cheap, the handle was attached with Velcro on the side (maybe for safety reasons?) which meant it continually fell apart. We ended up not using it, and were very disappointed. No way would it have been able to hold much candy...
Not good for a young child November 23, 2008 Our four-year-old son was Indiana Jones for Halloween, so we ordered the I.J. satchel for his candy. The strap was way too long, with no way to adjust it. We couldn't cut it because it attaches by velcro so we would have cut the velcro off. I tried overlapping it several times then gluing it with the glue gun, but once he started putting candy in it that came undone. It was so long he was tripping over it and spilling his candy. Finally we made a big knot in it to shorten the strap.
Fun for play November 19, 2008 My 6 year old son loves this bag. He uses it to play Indiana Jones all the time. The strap is too long. I had to tie a knot in it. He used it as a trick or treat bag. The velcro that attaches the strap to the bag wouldn't stay in place after he had only a small amount of candy in it. He became frustrated. I ran home, got a safety pin and then everything worked out fine.
OK - My son used it as a trick or treat bag November 4, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My son seemed to like it. He used it as a trick or treat bag. The bag is on the smaller side as the other reviewers point out. The length is too long, but, easily adjustable. It does look kinda cheap, but, served it's purpose. Had I seen what it looks like, I wouldn't have bought it.
Not exactly what I expected October 21, 2008 I would not really call this a treat satchel. With the amount of candy my son gets I highly doubt this would hold much. It is much smaller than I thought it was going to be and I agree with the previous reviews feelings about the strap - way too long. For a costume it's ok but we will not be using it as a treat bag.
