Road Shoe Great, Trail Version Falls Apart August 6, 2010 Ken Zemach (Redwood City, CA) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
First off, the road shoe version of this (MR) is great. I've had four pairs and they're stellar and durable. However, in the selection above, some of the color options (e.g the GY) are their trail version, which I recently purchased. I keep accurate mileage logs on all my shoes, and the bottom lugs on these trail one (GY variant, meaning the gray and yellow) have all started to come off around 125 miles (!!!!). Sooo.... the road shoes are awesome, but stay far away from the trail shoes; I'd consider these defective. I think NB has discontinued the trail shoe variant, but they're still on sale here so be forewarned.
Stable shoes with perfect fit July 11, 2010 Hans Scharler (nothans.com) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have been wearing the MR749 at 14EE for a few weeks now and really do like the shoes. The fit was perfect and they feel stable with the stock inserts. Most shoes get the length right, but the width was always a challenge. The EE width was advertised correctly and these shoes do not scrunch my feet.

I've been running in asics for about five years and my last pair were starting to get worn out. So I decided to order a pair on line and when I came across this ones in Yellow and Black I really liked how they looked, so I placed the order against my will. I just finish my tenth run (average 4 to 5 mile/per run) and I gotta say I was very surprised from day one, they feel great and light and really fit nice and snug. I've always had a small small discomfort on the outside of my left foot and I though it would never get any better than how it felt in my asics but let me tell yeah, I haven't felt it yet! so I'm really excited!. So far so good lets see how long they last...
the best pair of sneakers i ever owned! May 6, 2010 Barbara F. Feldstein (brooklyn ny usa) i love new balance, and this pair is my best one yet! love it! love it!
Bought a 2nd pair... April 13, 2010 G. Reyes (Virginia, USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Totally awesome shoe... I have mild pronation and this shoe gives me the support I need. My first pair I purchased in Nov. '09... I ran about 10 miles a week on pavement and some light trail. I ran 3 races (short 5K to 4 milers). Now I'm training for the MCM in October so I just bought another pair.
Pros:
-light
-stable
-arch support
-cost
Cons:
-Gold (other colors cost more)
If you don't care about the color the Gold one is about $45 others ones can run up to $80 which I don't get...
