 pranayama bolsters September 9, 2008
Lovely if you need VERY narrow bolsters but not appropriate for relaxation and meditation poses in which you must lay on them.

I mostly use this bolster as support when I do straight legged stretches on the floor. I place the bolster lengthwise on my straight leg or legs and after a flat backed stretch over my leg, I allow my upper body to rest on the bolster, nicely supported and without strain. I use it as a bolster under my hips for staff pose since my hamstrings are tight and it allows me to bend deeper and differently than without. I also lie on my belly with the bolster under my hips and use it as an assist for bow pose and that works great and feels wonderful.

This bolster is less expensive than some other brands, probably because it is not as wide, but still works great with a nice firm filling. I use it vertically, lying face-up with my upper body on the bolster and letting my shoulders relax downward, to open up my chest and counteract the slouching I do all day. It instantly relaxes the body.

The Pranayama bolster was very well made. It is stuffed just the right amount and great for what it is meant for, to bolster the back, particularly for people under 5 foot 6, when the regular sized bolster is too big for pranayama work. I will recommend it to anyone. The price is good too.

I wanted an all cotton bolster. If you want a square bolster, this is the way to go. I love mine. The handle makes it easier to lug into class, too.
