 Durable and Versatile October 7, 2008

I've owned my meditation cushion for about 7 years. The fabric cover is quite durable. It has a carrying handle, which I've used a great deal with no detrimental effects to the product. It is filled with buckwheat hulls, but not tightly. It resembles a "U" far more than a "V." I like to place it on the floor and lift up the ends of the "U" to slide the hulls toward the back. This gives me more height and support under my pelvis (helps maintain good posture) and less support under my knees. My knees don't need much support, but I like getting that pelvic tilt. I can sit up straight and BREATHE.
I find I use this for more than meditating though. I like to sit on the floor while working on certain tasks like peeling apples, wrapping gifts, mending clothes - working with my hands. I don't have to use this cushion, but it helps me keep comfortable for long periods, and I can tolerate staying on the floor longer without getting achey. At my age, that's a big plus!
I've also used this as a pillow and as a small bolster.
The only thing I don't like about this is it doesn't have an inner lining. If you want to wash it, you have to empty the buckwheat hulls into a separate container, then stuff them back in. So I'm dinging it one star.

This cushion is very comfortabe for sitting medititation. The support under the thighs is wonderful. I usually sit Burmese style and I can even sit on this without a cushion underneath. The travel handle makes it very convenient as well. I only wish it came in other colors besides plum although the plum is a nice deep purple, not too loud.

My mom gave me one of these about a year ago and I use it to sleep. Best pillow I've ever owned. Great neck support. Bought one for my wife and she loves it.

I looked and looked for a meditation pillow. Trying to find one the right firmness and the right height and at a great price was proving to be a great challenge. I sit in the Burmese sitting position (legs not crossed) because I find this to be the most comfortable. For a long time I sat with just a pillow or with nothing supporting me and hard a hard time keeping a straight back. This pillow supports my thighs and lifts my butt, giving me the pelvic tilt I need to keep my back straight. It's made of quality material and I feel it will last quite a while.

Arrived promptly. It's a little heavier than I would like. I bought it because I wanted something to sit on and support me when I go to yoga trainings and we spend time meditating or talking while sitting on the floor. It comes with a carrying handle so the extra weight shouldn't be a big deal. I ended up with this one because it was less expensive than the yogitoes cushion. I like both products for different reasons. The yogitoes one is lighter, but the hugger mugger is more supportive, either way, you can't go wrong.
