The mat is 7 feet long, and is a thick, dense mat that not only provides adequate padding, but holds up extremely well over time. At 6.2mm, our extra long yoga mat is a full 1/4" thick, and is one of the thickest mats on the market. When shopping around for a yoga mat, note that what many other companies call a 1/4" mat is actually 4.5 - 5.2 mm in thickness -- considerably thinner than this mat. Great, great, great. I'm 6'2'', and this mat is perfectly long enough. I was tired of stepping off and on to the surface below, so I thought there just HAD to be something else out there...BINGO!
So, tallies - do try...it's nice, thick, and grippy. And the price is pretty darn good too! :)

Got this for the extra-tall (6'6") male in my life. The mat's nice & thick (helps cushion your kneecaps during kneeling positions). Sturdy, long-lasting; I'm now pondering the regular-length one for myself.
