great for guys too! June 12, 2008 After buying the almost identical shorts (for men) from Andrew Christian, I wanted to give these a shot since they are less than half the price. They (AA, Amazon) should really advertise these as unisex shorts because more dudes would probably buy them. The design is based off 70's men's' basketball shorts, so why not advertise them for guys as well? So anyway, my first pair (from Andrew Christian) was a large and they fit well enough. However, since I'm in between the medium and large on the size charts, I went with medium when I bought these American Apparel shorts. I wear them for sleeping as well as swim shorts (over a Speedo). As swim shorts, they are HOT (in my opinion!). The mediums fit snug, and that's definitely not a bad thing. As I'm working on trimming down, these are perfect inspiration. Aside from the price being better than the Andrew Christian shorts (the only differences are that there is a drawstring - pointless since the waistband is elastic - and there's a small AC logo on the side), the color choices from AA are greater. All I really want is for AA to push these (and their interlock running shorts) as unisex so I don't feel so weird when I buy them!
Also, another review mentioned the bottoms flipping up. I have experienced this from time to time, but not as much as with the Andrew Christian pair.
Cute shorts, no complaints! May 2, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
These are great shorts for running, I use them once or twice a week to run 3-4 miles each time and I haven't had any problems! The bottom edge flips up some times but that just might be my body shape or something. I wear spandex leggings under these and they go really well. Normally I'm a size M in shorts, but bought a size L of these shorts because of other recommendations, and I recommend doing the same. They fit me perfectly, and my normal size would have definitely been to small. Buy a size up!
