Apex Roman chaif November 5, 2008 Since I have a limited space & budget, I was trying to find something to work my lower back area. This piece of equipment is just right. It was pretty easy to assemble [just a little help tightening the screws from my boyfriend] & fairly light weight, yet sturdy....for me. I'm very petite, so just about anything holds me. If you weigh 250lbs. & are also lifting weights, I could see how you'd need to stabilize it with some bolts or something, although the structure easily holds my boyfriend who's twice as big as me. With these qualifiers, I'd recommend it as a good item for home use.
Apex Extension Bench October 20, 2008 Great piece of equipment to have to help tone the stomach area. Doesn't take up much room at all.
Excellent product September 28, 2008 Regardless of price, the Apex Roman/Hyperextension Bench is an excellent product. Made from high grade materials that give it a commercial gym feel. Went together easily with adequate instructions and all parts were present. No need to spend more on a product of this type. Highly recommended
Great For Your Back September 21, 2008 I bought this product because a friend recommended it to me. We both were having lower back pain problems. I've been using it now for about 4 weeks, and it works great. At first it looks like there's not much to it or something's missing. The workout is almost exclusively for your lower back. My friend bought one after having problems with a sciatic nerve. I was worried I was going to have the same issues. I use it twice daily. I do 15 reps in the morning before work and 15 more before going to bed. A total of about 10 minutes. It's great.
Works Fine September 11, 2008 This does just what I need it to: allows me to exercise my lower back. I find it to be plenty stable; haven't had a single problem. I have also been using it for biceps curls: Holding a dumbbell in each hand, stand in front of the bench, crouch with your chest against the the pad, rest your triceps on the flat part of the pad, and do curls. This isolates the biceps and eliminates back strain.
