Amazon.com Product Description Exercise both your lower and upper body in one fluid routine with the Denise Austin Mini Stepper Plus. The Mini Stepper Plus is easy to use, with a pair of cabled resistance handles that work most of your upper body muscle groups, along with a pair of steps to work the lower body. Once on board, you can enjoy a vigorous full-body cardiovascular workout without neglecting your all-important arm, chest, and shoulder muscles. The Mini Stepper Plus relies on dual hydraulic cylinders to provide the resistance, along with an electronic monitor (includes two AA batteries) to track such details as the workout time, step count, strides per minute, and calories burned. And thanks to the ultra-compact design, the Mini Stepper Plus is easy to store when not in use. Other details include a heavy-duty steel frame that holds up to years of use, a smooth pulley design for quiet operation, and a maximum weight limit of 250 pounds. The Mini Stepper Plus--which is endorsed by Denise Austin, one of America's premier fitness authorities--measures 18.5 by 7.1 by 12 inches (W x H x D) and carries a 90-day warranty on parts and a one-year warranty on the frame. Disappointing August 5, 2009 S. Bruder (Germantown, TN USA) I thought this was a great little stepper for about 2 months and then it began to make a little snapping sound. Tonight it made a big snapping sound and crashed. It lasted a total of about 3 months which makes it not worth the money.
Works Beautifully May 14, 2009 Nicolette (Michigan) I received this stepper as a gift, and I just love it. In two months, it has re-shaped my legs, hips, and rear in a way my stationary bike has not. In fact, after a long, long, LONG Michigan winter, I was surprised to discover I could easily fit into my "skinny" summer capris. I have had no trouble with burning rubber or squeakiness. I think it's a great value.
Good exercise choice April 6, 2009 Sandra Mattern You get a great workout with this and can do it anytime. It is small enough you can put it in your living room and exercise while watching tv.
Too hard to use February 28, 2009 Sheila Kidwell I have never been able to adjust the tension on this product or maybe that's the way it is supposed to be; however it takes all my weight just to push down on the pedal to get it started. Then it is so hard to keep going, never mind using the arm toners. I thought I would get used to it and tried it every day for two weeks, but it was just TOO HARD to use. My husband tried adjusting the tension also and it couldn't get it to loosen up either. I feel like this was a really big waste of money!
Broke in six weeks November 22, 2008 David C. Veeneman (Lincolnshire, IL USA) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
My wife and I used this stepper for about six weeks before it broke. The unit has a steel cable that controls tension--the cable snapped. We had used it for about twenty minutes every other day, and we both weigh under 200 pounds. To make matters worse, there are apparently no replacement parts available for the unit. In light of that, I would rate the durability and value of this stepper as poor, and I would not recommend it to others.
