Amazon.com Product Description Forget the gym. Now you can enjoy a full cardio workout in the comfort of your home or office with this compact elliptical trainer from Stamina Products. Unlike full-size ellipticals, this trainer doesn't have arms or a front console. Instead, the trainer is essentially foot pedals only, with a chassis that's small enough to store under a desk or in a closet. Despite the small size, the trainer still packs a workout wallop, letting you burn a similar number of calories as jogging but without the risk of injury to the back, knees, hips, or ankles. Just keep your feet moving on the pedals--which continually oscillate in a low-impact manner--and you're set. Other details include sturdy steel construction, non-slip pedals, and an electronic fitness monitor that tracks the number of strides per minute, total number of strides, exercise time, and calories burned. About Elliptical Trainers Elliptical trainers represent the next wave of advancement in low-impact cardiovascular exercise machines and continue to grow in popularity. By simulating motions experienced through walking, stepping, cycling, and skiing, elliptical machines allow for a smooth and fluid motion while building strength in the arms and legs. Similar to the exercise position for treadmills, elliptical trainers are used by standing in an upright position while holding the handrails of the machine. With elliptical trainers, however, your feet remain in the foot pedals throughout the exercise regimen and circulate in a smooth and seamless motion, resulting in little to no impact on the knees, back, and hips. Elliptical trainers are compatible for all ages and fitness levels and allow you to select the difficulty level through the incline and intensity settings. Additionally, elliptical trainers allow you to determine the complexity of your workout based on your needs, all while listening to music, watching television, or reading a magazine while exercising in the comfort and safety of your own home. Although different types of elliptical trainers offer an assortment of features, many of them include an array of challenging programs, forward and reverse directional movement, EKG grip pulse handles, a lightweight portable design with easy fold-up capability, and a monitor displaying calories burned, distance, speed, time, and heart rate. Other types of exercise machines, namely treadmills and bikes, offer excellent cardiovascular exercise and muscular training for the legs in a forward-motion exercise. Elliptical trainers take this to the next level by offering an upper and lower body workout with dual motion, challenging and diverse programs, and a low-impact exercise machine that won't strain sensitive joints.

Not too shabby July 14, 2008 i made a mistake following the instructions...i had the backrest facing forward instead of backwards...
really makes you sweat, great room saver :)
Good, but different June 23, 2008 This item works well, but not like an elliptical. It has a much shorter leg span, which works for me because I'm short. I like it and use it every day. It does require getting used to, balance wise, but I'm very happy with it.
Be warned--elliptical motion jerks & you may fall over!! June 21, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I would think this product, for the price would be sufficient for a simple calorie burning routine, or as someone who's previously reviewed it states--it's better than sitting on the couch. However sadly it is not. The size is great, the foot pedals are of sufficient size, however the elliptical motion is horrid! It is not smooth & jerks very sharply--almost to the point of me falling off of it! When you do manage to get it going, the range of motion is far to small to feel like you're doing any real work. I'm a fuller sized person, so for me to say that after about 30 minutes I BARELY BROKE A SWEAT is saying quite a bit about this products lack of cardiovascular exercise ability.
Defective Product June 17, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
After 3 weeks, the product suddenly exhibited a loud squeeking sound which I was unable to get rid off. Maybe I just got a lemon but i'm returning this as I don't have any confidence that it'll hold up longer with future use. Although the product has a nice form factor and is portable, I thought the short stride was a letdown. But what can you expect from this size and price? Overall, not one of my better purchases.
Quality Product June 16, 2008 I've had the InMotion elliptical trainer for about a month and so far it seems like a really good product. It's small so it can be stored out of the way easily yet it is still sturdy so you don't feel like the thing is going to fall apart when you use it. It doesn't have the range of motion that a full sized elliptical machine would but that is to be expected and even with the limited range of motion you can still get a good workout on it.
