Makes exercising something to look forward to .... February 23, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Like SusieQ above, I've just bought my second Pilates machine .... for the same reason. I moved into a tiny apt and so lent my machine to a friend who wouldn't give it back. I actually bought an upgraded model from this one--you need a stand!, but wanted to review here, because these machines are a well-kept secret. Total Gym definitely copied the Pilates Reformer machines. My son is a physical therapist and says all the PT clinics have either these or Total Gyms because they give the very best workouts, requiring you to use more little, tiny muscles to maintain balance, etc. That said, don't be afraid this is hard ... it's very easy. The workout is fun. If something feels difficult, it's easy to make it easier by using fewer cords, AND you only ever have to do 10 reps if something seems difficult! Once the exercises are memorized, which happens after only a few Xs - 5 or 6, then you can get your workout in while you watch the news .. or whatever. I've done lots of different workouts and bought bunches of tape sets. This is by far the best workout. Results are seen very quickly. Due to multiple situational stressors, I gained an extra 40 pounds ...yipes! ... and had given up hope. After three sessions on this machine and 10 days of 30' walking, I've lost pounds and feel 1000% better emotionally and physically. Great investment in oneself.
Sticky Tracks...Returned it November 10, 2006 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've been going to a pilates trainer for a couple years, and maybe I'm just used to the pilates reformers that cost thousands of dollars, but I thought this was awful - the tracks were very sticky. I got on, pushed out with my legs, and the carriage just stopped - it did not try to move back in as I bent my legs. I returned it and got the higher model, the Premiere XP. The tracks are still a little sticky, but much better than this one - at least I can use it!

This is my second machine. Sold the first one in 2005 as we were in the process of moving and have regretted it since. Was so glad to find another one. This is a great way to get fit and it helps to improve flexibility and strength.
Great for the price! August 17, 2006 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I read many reviews before deciding to purchase. This is a great model to get started. Not as smooth as the ones in a studio, but for the price the value it cannot be beat. I will work with it more, and if I stick to it, I will invest in a nicer model.
Well worth the price July 27, 2006 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Love the equipment and for such a low price, I feel it definitely had value. I'm getting an excellent workout and feel more tone after just 3 weeks.
