About Recumbent Exercise Bikes
Despite the competition from trendy new fitness inventions, exercise bikes continue to be popular options for home exercise. They offer the same aerobic benefits of riding a bicycle at any time, in any weather, without leaving the comfort and safety of home. Exercise bikes don't take up much space, require little or no balance or coordination, and can provide an effective workout for all levels of users, from beginners to serious competitors. While the same could be said for a number of other types of home fitness equipment, the exercise bike is one of the few that allows you to watch television or read a magazine while you work out.

The term recumbent literally means "lying down." Exercising in a recumbent or reclining position allows the user to have full ergonomic back support, without causing strain on the arms, neck and shoulders, all of which can be common effects of using an upright bicycle. For many people, having convenient access to quality exercise equipment is critical to sticking with a long-term exercise program.

4 out of 5 stars A good product for the price   October 11, 2008
This recumbent bike serves my needs very nicely. I am in physical therapy after back surgery and needed a way to exercise. But I didn't want to buy a high-priced bike that I may end up not using after awhile. This bike is well made, sturdy, the seat is comfortable, and I think it will last for years. I'm not sure I would recommend it for a large man, but other than that it's a great bike. I looked at a couple of recumbent bikes in the same price range at Sears today and the Marcy bike is far better! And as usual I have always had good service and on-time delivery from Amazon.

4 out of 5 stars just ok   September 30, 2008
it was a little frustrating putting it together, ok quality,if you are looking for something that will do the work and don't want to spend a lot.

4 out of 5 stars A good product for a good price   August 17, 2008
I really like this bike. I like that it shows me how fast I'm going, calories spent, distance, and time. It runs smoothly and makes very little noise. It was sort of easy to put together. The only thing I don't like about the Marcy is that the backrest jiggles, and I can't seem to tighten it up, but that could be my fault. That jiggling doesn't affect the bike's performance at all. It showed up at my door almost instantly! I am a Prime member so I get orders within 2 days, but this recumbent bike was here in 1 and 1/2 days.

3 out of 5 stars Disappointed   August 13, 2008

I suppose you get what you pay for. It's pretty easy to put together, I did it by myself, only having trouble with the resistance cable. The tools that are supposed to be included were not. I read in another review and can confirm that no matter what bolts you tighten or how much you tighten the seat down when you really start pedaling hard the seat shakes and makes noise. The calorie display is way off (which isn't really a big deal to me.) I bought this so I could alternate my running (I run everyday) but I find myself still running the majority of the time. My 12 year old son really likes it though.

1 out of 5 stars Once I get it together, I'll let you know   August 12, 2008

The instructions clearly state 3 tools are included. I only received one, the allen wrench. I called the company and stated the tools were missing and they said they would send them priority mail. Never came. Called back, then I'm told there's a mistake with the packaging and those tools are not included. So apparently I need to go find the appropriate tools to put the dang thing together. The bike itself is probably fine but it p*sses me off to no end that this company...1. gives different answers at different times and 2. cant provide the 10 cent tools that would allow me to put the bike together.
