Amazon.com Product Description
Offering a total body workout at a great price, the Excel 286 dual-action fan exercise bike from Fitness Quest makes a terrific household addition. The bike is distinguished by its dual-action design, with elliptical-like handlebars that work both your upper and lower body at the same time to efficiently burn calories and tone your muscles. The large internal fan, meanwhile, provides variable air resistance while simultaneously keeping you cool. Throw in a motivational fitness computer--which tracks your workout time, speed, distance, and calories burned--and an adjustable seat height and you have everything you need to stay fit in your living room or basement. Made of sturdy 2-inch tubular steel, the Excel 286 offers a weight capacity of 250 pounds and carries a 90-day warranty.

About Exercise Bikes
Despite the competition from trendy new fitness inventions, exercise bikes continue to be popular options for home exercise. They offer the same aerobic benefits of riding a bicycle at any time, in any weather, without leaving the comfort and safety of home. Exercise bikes don't take up much space, require little or no balance or coordination, and can provide an effective workout for all levels of users, from beginners to serious competitors. While the same could be said for a number of other types of home fitness equipment, the exercise bike is one of the few that allows you to watch television or read a magazine while you work out. For many people, having convenient access to quality exercise equipment is critical to sticking with a long-term exercise program.

1 out of 5 stars Garbage   August 4, 2008
I put this bike together thinking it would be like the last one I bought years ago. I started peddling and found it had absoluely NO resistance! It was a waste of money and time! NOT RECOMMENDED!!!!!!!

5 out of 5 stars It's Just what I wanted!   August 2, 2008
I absolutely love it! It's almost as low a price as you can get, it's not too small like one a tried in a hotel once where my knees where up by my hands. It's not too big either. It has a solid bar for the handles which I was looking for because all the ones I've tried with two pieces get really loose at the connection. It has the fan, always a plus to be cooling the apartment while exercising. It runs nice and smooth and comfortable and it looks nice, not all sace age looking like most the new bikes.

2 out of 5 stars An ok Bike, more cons than pros.   July 14, 2008
It's an ok exercise bike for the price.
I don't go over 20mph because of the reviews I've read, and there have been several, on what happens to the bike over 20mph. It hasn't fallen apart on me yet. I use it for 15 - 20 minutes 3x a day.
I'm short so the seat is too high and I have to 'tip toe' on the pedals. This I don't mind, but what I hate about the bike is that the seat is unbelievably uncomfortable, EXTREMELY uncomfortable and for this reason I wouldn't recommend it to anyone over 200lbs and under 5'6".
I take the time at least once a week to re-tighten the bolts all over the bike.
If I had more or a budget to spend on a better bike, I would have.
Look at all your options, eBay or a local sports store before committing to this bike because comfortwise, it sucks.

This product fell apart before it was even put together. The parts crumbled. It was even missing parts! I would never recommend this product to anyone!!!!

3 out of 5 stars This exercise bike does exactly what I was looking for....   March 31, 2008
The seat is very uncomfortable, and there are no gears in case I might want to challenge myself.Going to put all that aside and try to get the best work out I can,,,,Here comes the Summer....
