The Better Bottle with Big Bite Valve makes it easy to hydrate on the go. | What is BPA? Bisphenol-A is an ingredient used to make polycarbonate. In recent months, there has been increasing consumer demand for a bottle that is not made with Bisphenol-A (BPA), and CamelBak is proud to introduce BPA-free bottles with the same great properties customers have come to expect from polycarbonate: vibrant color, clarity, durability, dishwasher-safe, and with no residual taste. As of the end of April 2008, the entire CamelBak bottle line will be available in BPA-Free materials in North America. What are phthalates? Phthalates (pronounced thal-ates) are a component added to some plastics to make them soft and pliable. None of CamelBak's bottles have ever contained phthalates. What is the BPA-free Better Bottle made from? The CamelBak Better Bottle line is made from a new copolyester polymer called Tritan, made by Eastman. It offers the same great qualities that we have come to expect from polycarbonate bottles and is 100 percent BPA-Free. The Big Bite Valve is made of medical-grade silicone for long life and taste-free performance. About CamelBak CamelBak is the originator and world leader in hands-free hydration systems. The first CamelBak products proved to be very popular among mountain bikers and motocross riders, because it allowed them to drink without taking their hands off of the handlebars in technical terrain. The product began to cross over into other sports when scientific studies showed athletes drank more fluids and performed better when they wore a CamelBak. Since then, athletes from an ever-growing list of sports and activities use CamelBak hydration systems for their convenience and performance benefits. In addition to cycling, CamelBak has Hands-Free Hydration systems for hiking, running, snowboarding and skiing. CamelBak's state-of-the-art packs and hydration systems have benefited athletes, outdoorsmen, and soldiers around the world. While CamelBak has grown tremendously since the early days, one thing hasn't changed: CamelBak still believes in the performance advantage that proper hydration delivers for just about any activity. The privately-held company is headquartered in Petaluma, California.

Camelbak water bottle review November 30, 2008 I love everything about this water bottle except the fact that it is not watertight. It sometimes leaks when I drink from it after I have filled it full. Also, it would be nice if the bottle had a condensation barrier to prevent its "sweating". I use it at the office and usually just wrap a paper towel around the bottom. I had never used a bite valve before, but it appears to be a sturdy material that takes a lot of abuse. I fill the bottle once or twice a day and it keeps me well hydrated. I feel good about the fact it does not contain bpa - that is the main reason I got it. The price was reasonable and it arrived quickly. People have commented about its beautiful blue color.
Excellent water bottle November 30, 2008 I love this water bottle! I was searching specifically for a BPA-free bottle that I could bring to work and this one works great. The only downside is that the spout is a little hard to bite, which is required to get the water out. On the other hand, it is completely spill-proof which is important to me since I can't afford to spill water on my computer. Less important, but nice is that the colors are bright and fun. I find that it is easy to drink from once I've bitten the spout. This size is perfect - it fits in my car cupholder and in my bags without a problem. I would definitely buy this bottle again.
BPA Free November 29, 2008 I really like this product. I try to choose products that are BPA Free. There are two small things that you should know. 1) the mouth piece is a little tough. you have to bite down on it to open the slit on the mouth piece. 2) it doesn't fit into a standard size cup holder in your car. I think these are small issues and I still like this product very much.
An excellent spill proof water bottle November 29, 2008 Put simply, its the best water bottle I've ever used. I've read that some people don't like the bite valve, but I think its a really nice feature. I've dropped it before in class and in the university's library, and that bite valve saved me from making a mess. I'd recommend it!
Daily user November 28, 2008 Very nice water bottle, I have the grey 24oz bottle which looks great. The hard plastic feels tough and its the perfect size and weight. I dont use the straw so cant comment on it but I like the handle on lid which is very convenient.
