Good for Tight Muscles September 5, 2008 I found it works good for loosening tight muscles. I have other brands of foam rollers in other sizes. So far mine is holding up fine after a few weeks of use and this one seems of comparable quality to my other rollers. The Miracle Ball Method: Relieve Your Pain, Reshape Your Body, Reduce Your Stress [2 Miracle Balls Included] are also helpful for muscle loosening. I use those in addition to the foam rollers.
Doesn't hold up August 31, 2008 Works great, until it goes flat. Mine was clearly losing its roundness after about 10 uses. I weigh about 175 pounds, and roll for about 10 minutes each time. I'm very disappointed that this one is going flat so quickly; I have a plain white roller that I bought from my local gym for about $2 more than this one, and it is still round after 8 months of daily rolling.
Foam lasts a few months before getting mushy August 24, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I replaced this foam roller with an Exervo Nimbus which uses compressed polyethylene beads and is MUCH more durable. These foam type rollers only last a few months before the foam breaks down and gets mushy. The Nimbus has lasted 6 months so far and still looks nearly new.
Inferior Quality August 16, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I am on my second one in six months. Bought it at Sports Authority. I am 150 pounds.
I am an every day user and it just does not hold up. Loses it roundness quickly and then degenerates from there.
I will be returning this one
DVD is very good and buying a much better quality one for much less money.
There are few good ones on the inetrnet but the cheapest one ($8.99) is STILL of far better quality than this one. My yoga studio has the cheap one and I could not believe the difference.
If you are over 100 pounds and are a daily roller, don't waste your money!!
I Just Purchased This Item June 18, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I just purchased this item and, it felt awkward for the first...60 seconds. After that, I was like a cat to catnip. I had been having pain in my hips and lower back all weekend. It bothered me all through church. Then, on father's day a couple of days ago--I purchased this for myself--even though I'm not a dad--I'm a mom! I have to say that my pain was gone--I'm not joking. My hips are better. I think when we're in pain our body keeps constricting and consticting until our hips/joints/back are one tied-up knot. Well, the foam roller undid those knots--ALREADY. I can tell if I did that everyday, I would just blossom. The video is VERY helpful, otherwise, I wouldn't know what to do with the roller--not really. However, it's frustrating because each body part section starts with the person already in "position". By the time you have gotten your body to be in the same body position for that body part, she's already half-way through the demonstration! So when it starts each part, you have to pause it and try to mimic how she got in that position, then watch how she does it and pause it and do it, then keep it paused while you do the same thing on the other side of the body (i.e., left leg, then right leg). Don't let that deter you from getting this life changing item!! It's just that...I wish you could play it like a regular dvd and have it go through all the parts with you as if you were there, instead of 60 seconds for each body part. You have to try to remember how to do it on your own, and I'm not going to remember all that, unless I write it down. ...if I could find that dvd somewhere that's formatted like a real, "live" exercise video/dvd...I would get it in a heartbeat. Other than that inconvenience, it is AMAZING. Matter of fact, I think I'll go try it again right now! My pain is gone...now I can just go get limber and massaged!
