Editorial Reviews:
Product Description Now you have a choice in 11/2" diameter climbing rope material; traditional Grade-A Manila or its synthetic look-alike, Unmanila. Grade-A Manila is a natural fiber that absorbs moisture and is coarser, for more grip friction. Due to the addition of mineral oil in the manufacturing process, the diameter of new Grade-A Manila often exceeds 11/2" by as much as 1/8". Although it will conform to size with aging, it should initially be considered for use in grades where hands are larger. Unmanila is a smoother synthetic material with superior strength at 2/3 the weight of Manila and very popular for elementary use. The ropes on this item are 18 ft in length.
