Product Description Stamina's Air Resistance Cross Trainer is an affordable way to work out at home on one of the most popular machines in the gym. Elliptical trainer workouts burn a similar number of calories as jogging but without the risk of injury to the back, knees, hips, or ankles. Since your feet never leave the pedals the Stamina Air Resistance Cross Trainer gives a low-impact workout that is easy on your joints. In fact, whereas jogging, jumping rope, aerobics classes, and exercising on a treadmill all require your body to absorb the force of impact, exercising on an elliptical can be compared to running in midair. Because ellipticals are so low impact and easy on the joints, they are also a good choice for older people or for individuals who have old injuries. Adjust the resistance to control the intensity of your workout. Turn the knob to one of eight resistance levels without interupting your workout. Elliptical trainers mimic the natural path of the foot, the extension of the leg, and the rotation of the hip during walking or running. This motion uses all the leg muscles, giving you a total lower body workout while the dual action arms work your upper body and let you increase or decrease intensity. Work your arms harder to tone and to burn more calories. The foot pedals can be worked in a forward or reverse direction. Resistance may be added as desired to increase the workload on your legs throughout the forward or backward stride to tone thighs and glutes.
Amazon.com Product Description An affordable way to burn calories when the weather takes a turn for the worse, the Stamina air resistance cross trainer is a terrific choice for home workout enthusiasts. Elliptical trainers offer a unique appeal, as they burn a similar number of calories as jogging but without the risk of injury to the back, knees, hips, or ankles. The smooth-gliding machines are also ideal for older people or folks who are recovering from injury, as their low-impact design won't tax the joints. And thanks to the dual-action handlebars, you can exercise both the arms and the feet at the same time--something that can't be said for traditional jogging. The movement of the dual handlebars instead mimics cross-country skiing, helping you engage the upper 30 percent of your body for better fitness results. The cross trainer offers three ways to adjust your workout intensity: air resistance, which creates more resistance the faster you pedal; the dual-action handlebars, which naturally add more cardio intensity while toning your arms, chest, shoulders, and back; and a tension knob that offers eight levels of built-in resistance. Users will also appreciate the 13-inch stride length, which mimics the walking or running motion of the foot, the extension of the leg, and the rotation of the hip. Finally, the trainer offers an easy-to-use, single button electronic monitor that tracks your speed, time, distance, and calories burned. The trainer--which measures 38 by 59 by 15 inches (W x H x D)--supports up to 300 pounds and carries a one-year warranty on the frame and a 90-day warranty on parts.

pretty bad product and even worse service November 27, 2008 after two months of moderate use (twice a week, half an hour) the right pedal fell off the crank. I called Stamina for the replacement parts and since then, more than 2 months have passed and they still haven't sent them.
I call them every 3 weeks and each time the lady who answers the phone just comes up with some excuse and says that in the next 3 weeks I should receive the parts. given than I paid only $170 or so, it's almost kind of amusing to see how poor one's service can be, but I guess that next time I will choose a different brand.
OKay Item November 18, 2008 This Product is okay as I weigh 150 and it barely holds. It keeps moving back when used... Kind of crazy. I am glad it is on carpet and the my hard wood. would damage it if it was... I guess you get what u pay for
Amazon should not sell this item October 12, 2008 I boutght this product 3 months ago.. Today it sints in my garage because the part that connects the paddle to the main unit broke.. I tried calling the company but still no response. I do NOT recommend this product!!
Great Cross-Trainer September 17, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
After searching the Internet for a small exercise machine I was about ready to give up as everything was much too large for the limited space I have. However, at last I did find just what I was looking for - a smaller, well made machine with good customer reviews. I have used it every day since receiving it and have nothing but good to say about it. It's quiet, has adjustable resistance, the monitor works perfectly and best of all, I'm increasing each day the length of time that I'm able to use it so it's obviously doing what it's supposed to. I highly recommend this Stamina Cross-Trainer and give it a big A+.

First, this machine is not the easiest to assemble, but the instructions are very helpful. That is not why I rated this machine only one star, however.
We owned the first one for one week. During my 4th time using it, the right pedal arm fell off - the bolt holding it to the crank shaft stripped out. I received replacement parts under warranty, but they are impossible to replace without buying another tool (which we could not find locally) and a ton of elbow grease. So, we shipped it back to Amazon and ordered a replacement.
We owned the second one for a little over a month, just long enough that we cannot return it to Amazon. The belt slipped off the wheel inside, making the pedals immoble. So now we are in the same predicament as before. No tool to dismantle the machine, even though we can get a new belt. Stamina's customer service will not refund our money (yet) and expect us to fix it ourselves, even though this is covered under warranty (which also states that we should return it to them for repair). However, the Staminateam Customer Service reps do respond promptly to emails.
I liked this machine when it was working. But next time, I will spend more money and buy a quality machine.
