Ouch! October 2, 2008 I very much wanted to love this DVD set...but every time I tried to workout with Turbo Jam, I had to stop less than 10 minutes in because my back hurt so badly. There's too much twisting and gyrating for this to a safe workout for your back. Be warned all consumers with back pain, or a weak back, this is NOT a good work out for you. Try something more like pilates or yoga.
I will admit that it would have been a good cardio workout if it hadn't been so damaging.
This is well worth your money! June 27, 2008 I've tried a lot of programs and this set is the best so far. I did the learn and burn, and felt it right off! I do have a suggestion--use proper form and take your time learning the moves. For me, Chalene is easy to follow, but for those of you who are REALLy out of shape, as in "couch potato of the year candidate", I recommend making sure you use the base (tuck) position for your moves and concentrate on keeping that position as much as possible. Other moves don't require that, but for those that do, remember that tuck and you'll feel it!
Aside from the fun and dance aspect of it, a lot of the moves mirror moves I learned as a corrections officer in defensive tactics. However, for me this is much easier to follow than TAE BO. It won't kill you when starting out like TAE BO does, and I didn't get very sore.
Another thing I love about this is that some of the team members actually look like NORMAL people--not starved supermodels. One appears to be an older man in his late 50's.

I've used all of the others--Buns of Steel, the Firm, etc...I have found that those are okay, but don't work my muscles with the same intensity as these workouts do. These workouts were well worth my money! I'll update later as to progress, but I already feel it!
I LOVE THIS SERIES!!! June 15, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I'm 20 years old and before buying Turbo Jam my workouts were very traditional: running and weight training. Never one to enjoy workouts on DVDs (I have tried The Firm and other Beach Body products like Slim in 6 and the 10 Minute Trainer) I really went out on a limb when I purchased this set and I am so glad I did. I do not do Turbo Jam to lose weight, rather to simply maintain my weight and improve my stamina, strength, and flexibility so I cannot promise you will lose 10 pounds in 10 days as indicated by the infomercials, however, I can almost guarantee you that this is a workout you will actually look forward to. It is fun, exciting, and not at all hard to follow if you start with the learning DVD. I guess it is probably not going to satisfy everyone, as no workout will, but if you want a workout you can enjoy, this is one to try!!! Happy Jamming!:)
I really enjoyed it! May 28, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Ive been doing turbo jam for about a week now. I have only done the learn and burn segment, and am going to do the 20 minute workout tonight. I like how Chalene keeps telling you the point of this is to have fun, and you dont have to get the moves right away. The moves can be a bit challenging when mixed all together, especially if your out of shape like me! I had to stop a few times to take a breather and a drink of water. I love all her team members and how enthusiatic they are! Shes not annoying, shes fun and motivating! Im excited to see my results!
I personally didn't like it May 5, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I purchased it thinking great up-beat music with a good work-out. You can barely hear the music, even if you do use the feature where the music comes out louder. It's just not what I expected.
Not my kind of workout would rather use my Firm tapes. Used it three times (bores me) You do work up a sweat, but I don't know it's just not my kind of workout.
I will stick to the elliptical/treadmill/weights even stepper, but not this.
