The Indiglo night-light uniformly lights the surface of the watch dial using patented blue electroluminescent lighting technology. It uses less battery power than most other watch illumination systems, enabling your watch battery to last longer. The Night Mode feature allows you to illuminate the Indiglo night-light for 3 seconds with any button press, regardless of the mode or function. The watch is water resistant to 50 meters (165 feet)--suitable for swimming but not for diving. All Timex heart rate monitor sensors have batteries that can be replaced by consumers without requiring them to be returned to the manufacturer.

Need a new HRM Band? Buy the Whole watch. December 24, 2008 Well my little Timex had been doing it's job for over a year and I accidentally put the band through the dryer. You can not buy just a new band. So just buy a new watch and band for [...] bucks on Amazon. The new watch that came with it looks chintzy because of a color and design change. So I just stuck with the old watch portion.
This HRM does everything I want it to pretty reliably of [...] bucks. I do not need all the crap a Garmin provides. I manually keep a running log in an Excel spreadsheet and thoughtful transfer the data from my Timex.
If you have not been training with an HRM buy this. It's a great way to get started. If you learn about your aerobic ceiling and your anaerobic threshold, for example, you can train harder and healthier.
A great little device.
Very good value December 21, 2008 They say you get what you pay for but I did not want to spend alot on my first heart monitor because I will likely be replacing it once I learn more about them. I chose this heart monitor because of the price but it turned out to be a pretty good unit. It has all the features I was looking for, simple to use and it has been working flaulessly for the past two months. I am very happy with this purchase and recommend it.
Works well December 21, 2008 This Heart rate monitor does what its supposed to. The setup and understanding of all the different functions takes time. I am happy with this purchase.
Heart Rate Monitor December 14, 2008 Works great but is hard to learn the functions. Manual is not very good, had to figure out by trial and error. Amazon ground shipping is much to slow, it took them several days to put it in the mail.
Excellent, practical heart rate monitor November 23, 2008 Overall it deserves five stars, but I decreased to 4 because selecting a few setup functions may not be that intuitive and the out of heart rate alarm does not stop by itself after a few seconds but continues. I thought that wearing the sensor in my breast was going to be inconvenient, but it is very well designed and did not bother me at all and I got the convenience of continuously seeing my HR, even more, you can place the watch on top of your exercise machine and continuously see how you are doing. In general the functions are easy to access, it present different options to display the HR... very practical.
