Amazon.com Product Description Yoga towels come in handy in several situations--as a top layer for your yoga mat, as a yoga mat substitute when a mat isn't available, or while performing "hot" yoga. When used with a yoga mat, this microfiber towel from Gaiam keeps you from slipping while adding a hygienic barrier to the floor. However, it also excels as a regular towel, with a super-absorbent construction that mops up sweat during a particularly energizing routine. The same size as a standard Gaiam yoga mat, the towel is fashionable and effective. About Gaiam Gaiam was created as a lifestyle company with the vision that, given a choice, people would choose a lifestyle that is healthy and life enhancing, for themselves, their families and the Earth. The Gaiam lifestyle is a vote for individual health as well as the future sustainability of the Earth's resources. Gaiam strives to provide customers with alternatives to traditional products by offering natural, eco-friendly or healthy versions that compare with the style, quality and price of conventional products. Gaiam's goal is to become the trusted source and unifying brand for Lifestyle of Health and Sustainability (LOHAS) participants. They understand that the opportunity to affect people's lives with information and products is both a privilege and a responsibility. Gaiam believes in the concept of Conscious Commerce, the practice of making purchasing decisions based on personal values and beliefs. It takes into consideration all the aspects of our lives and the impact we have upon the planet. Research indicates this concept appeals to approximately 50 million people in the U.S. alone. Gaiam's strategy in delivering the distinctive quality for which they are known is to partner with experts in health/wellness, eco-living and personal development to develop proprietary products that meet our customers' needs with meaningful solutions. The name GAIAM is a fusion of the words Gaia (the name of Mother Earth from the Minoan civilization in ancient Crete), and I am reminds us that we are all interconnected with the Earth, the air and water, and very much a part of this living system that sustains us all.

good value for a basic towel July 25, 2008 Good value. I still seem to slip despite wetting down the towel, but it is better than my mat alone, especially in hot yoga classes. You might try one of the towels with the rubber dots, or get a new extra-sticky, natural rubber mat instead of this towel, if you are willing to spend the money. Otherwise, this is about what I expected - pretty, absorbent, soft, and useful.
Gaiam Thirsty yoga towel June 21, 2008 I love this yoga towel. It is the perfect size to fit on my yoga mat. It works great when doing hot yoga such as Ashtanga yoga. It aborbs the sweat very well and you don't slip and slide all over your mat. It's also machine washable which is a plus!
It works. May 26, 2008 This yoga towel works good. Like other reviewer says, this one doesn't stay still on the yoga mat as well as yogitoes and I have to fix it a couple of more extra times in a session. I hope it would be a little longer so I can tuck into yoga mat to prevent it, but still works well and really light to carry.
Works well and the price is right January 21, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This towel works well - absorbs moisture, fits a yoga mat perfectly, and is well worth the purchase if you slip due to perspiration in a yoga class. Other similar products cost twice as much and I see no reason to pay that much. I would buy this product again.
Not Worth It January 8, 2008 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
I have been doing Bikram yoga for about a year now, and needed something longer than a normal bath towel. Instead of buying the expensive yoga towels, I went for Gaiam's, and have not been too impressed. It does absorb much more than a normal towel, but does not stay put on top of the mat in between poses which causes me to constantly fix it, leaving me with little if any resting time. I suggest buying the expensive towels for it's worth the cost in the end.
